Trimma cana (Candycane dwarfgoby)

Identification

Small, white to gray body with 8 distinct red, vertical bars on the head and body and a clear white stripe on the nose.

Status

Unassessed by the IUCN Red list. Can be considered an uncommon species due to its limited distribution range. It is also collected for the aquarium trade, but it is uncertain whether this is influencing the global species.

Habitat

They can be found in the Asian Pacific; Indonesia, the Philippines, Palau (Micronesia) and (Papua) New Guinea. They prefer surfaces of hard corals on steep reef slopes, in a depth range of 12-35 meters.

Up to 2,5cm.
