Chromodoris quadricolor (Pyjama chromodoris)

Identification

Blueish white and 3 black stripes on the back surrounded by a yellow to orange band, rhinophores and gills are dark orange to red.

Status

Unevaluated by the IUCN Red list.

Habitat

Red Sea, Eastern African coast and parts of the Western Indian Ocean. They live in a depth range of 1-50 meters.

Reproduction

Size

Up to 5cm.

Prey / Predation

They feed on sponges (preferably Dictyoceratida and Dendroceratida).

Special features

It resembles Chromodoris africana very closely, but has darker rhinophores and gill structures. Chromodoris quadricolor has a thinner mantle and is more delicate than its relative.
