Chromodoris dianae (Diana’s chromodoris)

Identification

Pale blue with fine speckling, white marginal band (occasionally with orange spots), two black longitudinal – often broken – stripes and curved band on the head, orange rhinophores and gill markings.

Status

Unevaluated by the IUCN Red list.

Habitat

West Pacific, Indonesia and the Philippines to Guam, also Japan. It’s depth range is uncertain.

Reproduction

They reproduce by laying eggs in a mucus, ribbon-like veil

Size

Up to 6cm.

Prey / Predation

It feeds on sponges

Special features

This species can be confused with somewhat similar species of the Chromodorids, but the yellow tips  on the gills and rhinophores, together with the black striping set it apart from the others.
