Caesio striata (Striated fusilier)

Identification

Body light bluish to greenish dorsally, white color at the lower part of the body.

Status

Has not yet been assessed for the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea to the Arabian Sea.
Inhabits coastal areas, primarily around coral reefs. Forms aggregations in midwater.
Depth range 2 – 30 meter.

Reproduction

Oviparous, with numerous, small pelagic eggs.

Size

Maximum size: 250 mm.

Prey / Predation

Feeds on zooplankton.
